2 Sustain Injuries in Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 12 in Fairfield
Fairfield, California (June 2, 2022) – Two people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision with extrication that happened Wednesday night in Fairfield, a local news source reported.
The wreck occurred at about 9 p.m. on Highway 12.
Fairfield firefighters responded to the scene to find one of the cars with heavy crash damage. The firefighters had to remove the door to extricate the driver.
Two people were hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries.
Authorities are investigating the accident.

According to statistics by NHTSA, over 15,000 lives were saved by seat belts in crashes that happened in 2017. In 2020, 10,893 unbuckled people in passenger vehicles died in crashes in the US. 60% of the young adults (ages 18 to 34) killed in the crashes were completely unrestrained.
