Boyle Heights, Calif.- The man who was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Boyle Heights on Tuesday morning has been identified as Fariba Azar, 56, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The crash took place on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway near the Lorena Street Offramp at about 2:43 a.m. February 27.
The authorities said two sedans and a big rig collided on the southbound side of the freeway and one of the sedans burst into flames after crashing into the embankment.
Azar was riding in one of the vehicles and died at the site of the crash.
It's unclear whether there were other injuries in the incident.
The incident is under investigation.
