Fatal Motorcycle Accident at Gilbert Intersection

Gilbert, Ariz. – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Sunday afternoon at an intersection in Gilbert, according to the Gilbert Police Department.

The deadly traffic collision was reported at around 3:30 p.m. on December 17 at Ray and Higley Roads.

Responding crews found a motorcycle and a second in the area. How they collided was not immediately determined.

Despite life-saving measures for the rider, he was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The victim's identity was not immediately disclosed.

The driver involved stayed at the site and cooperated with the officers.

Southbound Higley Road is closed at Ray Road and northbound Higley Road is closed at Galveston Street. Police expect the area to remain closed until the investigation of the crash is complete.

Motorists were advised to use alternative routes.
