A male pedestrian was reportedly seen running against traffic near the Imperial Avenue exit just before the crash.
San Diego, CA – A pedestrian died in a crash on 5 Freeway near East Village Tuesday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident was reported around 5 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway near the Imperial Avenue exit.
CHP said a male pedestrian was seen running against traffic on the right-hand side of the roadway before the accident happened.
The pedestrian died in the crash.
A SigAlert was issued closing four lanes of the southbound 5 Freeway.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
