Santa Maria, Calif. – A pedestrian was killed in a crash in Santa Maria Friday night, according to the Santa Maria Police Department.
The incident was reported at around 9:45 p.m. on North Broadway.
The police said a vehicle hit a pedestrian on the the roadway in unclear circumstances.
The victim was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center by AMR ambulance, where they were pronounced dead.
Their identity was not disclosed. The driver involved was not identified and remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
No arrests were made.
North Broadway was shut down between Alvin and McElhaney avenues while officers investigated the collision. It was re-opened about 3 a.m.
