, Calif. – A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Visalia, according to the Visalia Police Department.

The deadly auto- crash was reported at around 9:30 a.m. in the 3900 block of West Vine Avenue.

Reportedly, a driver was backing out of the driveway when they unintentionally hit the woman on the sidewalk.

She was taken to Kaweah Health where she later died.

The identity of the deceased was not immediately released.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers.

Alcohol and drugs were not believed to have played a role in the wreck.

More details about the collision were not provided.

An investigation is underway.
