The unidentified pedestrian was crossing the streets when a vehicle struck them in unclear circumstances

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. – Authorities are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian accident on Interstate 5 in Santa Fe Springs Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck happened at around 5:18 a.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway and the Florence Avenue off-ramp.
The unidentified pedestrian was crossing the streets when a vehicle struck them in unclear circumstances.
The victim was pronounced dead at the crash site.
The CHP issued a SigAlert and closed the Florence Avenue off-ramp to the Santa Ana Freeway.
More information about the collision was not available.
An investigation is ongoing.
