Malheur County, Ore. – Tad Stringam,48, of Prineville, was killed and Tami Stringam,48, of Bend, was hospitalized in serious condition after a car crash in Malheur County Tuesday morning.
The Oregon State Police responded to the wreck at around 7:04 a.m. on December 19 on Highway 20 near milepost 267.
Reportedly, a Toyota Tundra, operated by Tad was traveling east across the Nyssa Snake River Bridge when it slid into the westbound lane of travel.
At the same time, a commercial motor vehicle, operated by Jose Ambriz,64, of Heyburn, was traveling west across the bridge. He swerved trying to avoid the collision but the Toyota struck the commercial motor vehicle ejecting Tundra driver.
Tad was pronounced dead at the crash site. His passenger Tami was transported to a hospital with severe injuries.
The highway was impacted for about three hours during the on-scene investigation.
Additional information about the wreck was not provided.
