Rogelio Avila and Daughter Killed in Crash Involving Semi-Truck on Annadale and Chestnut Avenues

, Calif. (UPDATE)  – The authorities have released the identities of the father and daughter killed in a traffic collision involving a big rig on Monday morning.

50-year-old Rogelio Avila and his 20-year-old daughter Yessenia Avila died in a wreck that occured on Chestnut Avenue at Annadale Avenue, southeast of Calwa.

Authorities say Yessenia was a student at Fresno Pacific University and her father was driving her to class when the unfortunate happened.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the semi-truck was traveling westbound on Annadale when it began to turn south onto Chestnut.  That's when a northbound Chevy pickup, operated by Rogelio, ran into the side of the semi-truck, getting pinned underneath.

Rogelio and Yessenia sustained injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Fresno, Calif. – Two people were killed in a crash involving a semi-truck Monday morning on Annadale Avenue in Fresno.

The deadly traffic collision happened on Annadale Avenue and Chestnut Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A semi-truck was heading west on Annadale when it began to turn south onto Chestnut when a pickup heading north ran into the big rig, getting pinned underneath.

Both occupants of the pickup were pronounced dead at the crash site.
