Fresno, Calif. (UPDATE) – The authorities have released the identities of the father and daughter killed in a Fresno County traffic collision involving a big rig on Monday morning.
50-year-old Rogelio Avila and his 20-year-old daughter Yessenia Avila died in a wreck that occured on Chestnut Avenue at Annadale Avenue, southeast of Calwa.
Authorities say Yessenia was a student at Fresno Pacific University and her father was driving her to class when the unfortunate happened.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the semi-truck was traveling westbound on Annadale when it began to turn south onto Chestnut. That's when a northbound Chevy pickup, operated by Rogelio, ran into the side of the semi-truck, getting pinned underneath.
Rogelio and Yessenia sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Fresno, Calif. – Two people were killed in a crash involving a semi-truck Monday morning on Annadale Avenue in Fresno.
The deadly traffic collision happened on Annadale Avenue and Chestnut Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Both occupants of the pickup were pronounced dead at the crash site.
