1 Seriously Injured in Fillmore Car Crash on Highway 23 (Grimes Canyon Road)

Fillmore, California (January 23, 2022) – One person sustained serious injuries following a traffic collision that happened Saturday morning in Fillmore, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The major injury crash occurred just before 8:30 a.m. Saturday, January 22, on Highway 23, also known as Grimes Canyon Road.
According to the CHP, a black Nissan Sentra and a blue Toyota Tacoma collided head-on for an unknown reason.
As a result of the collision, both vehicles sustained major front-end damage.
2-Vehicle Crash in Fillmore
One person was trapped in their vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.
Authorities said one patient was taken to a hospital with major injuries, including a facial laceration. The name of the victim and their current condition were not available.
A section of Highway 23 was temporarily blocked for an hour due to the crash, which remains under investigation.
