Victorville, CA. – 23-year-old resident of San Bernardino, and Alexis Franco, 25, of Helendale were seriously injured in a car accident at an intersection in Victorville last week early Wednesday morning.
The accident happened at approximately 1:04 a.m. July 31 near the intersection of Wilderness Court and National Trails Highway, according to the Victorville Police.
Reportedly, a gray Nissan Sentra and a blue Peterbilt 389 tractor-trailer were involved in the collision. The manner in which they collided was not immediately established.
Contreras and Franco, who were occupants in the Sentra, suffered severe injuries and were rushed to an out-of-area trauma center for urgent medical treatment.
The incident caused National Trails Highway to be closed between Air Expressway and First Street.
The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is currently conducting an in-depth investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the crash.
