Francisco Zuniga Sustains Major Injuries in Visalia Collision on State Route 137 at Road 68
Visalia, California (October 20, 2021) – Francisco Zuniga of Tulare was seriously injured after being involved in a deadly car collision last week on Friday morning in Visalia, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported to the CHP at about 1:50 a.m. Friday, October 15, on State Route 137 at Road 68.
According to the CHP, a Nissan Pathfinder was traveling southbound on Road 68 at an unspecified speed towards the intersection of State Route 137 when the driver allegedly ran a red light and collided with the side of a Chevy Silverado that was heading eastbound on State Route 137 at approximately 60 miles per hour.

The driver of the Nissan, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was thrown from the car. He was declared dead at the scene. His name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Zuniga was transported to Kaweah Health with major injuries. Authorities did not disclose his current condition.
It is undetermined whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision, which remains under investigation.
