Humboldt County, CA.- Fredrick Sundberg Sr., 75, of Willow Creek, was injured in a traffic collision that occurred in Humboldt County on Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck occurred on State Route 299, east of Essex Lane at around 7:30 a.m. September 21.
The CHP said a Fortuna man was driving a 1994 Jeep east on SR 299 when he drifted into the westbound lanes at a curve and collided head-on with an oncoming 2020 Ram.
The drivers were taken to Saint Joseph Hospital in Erueka, where the Fortuna driver died.
The second driver, identified as Sundberg Sr., was hospitalized with major injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The accident is under investigation.
