Man Critically Hurt in Fresno Pedestrian Crash near Kings Canyon Road and Chestnut Avenue
Fresno, California (December 21, 2021) – A man sustained critical injuries when he was struck by a vehicle in southeast Fresno on Monday afternoon, according to the Fresno police.
The accident occurred near Kings Canyon Road and Chestnut Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. December 20.
A pickup truck was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Chestnut Avenue when it made a U-turn onto the southbound side.
The driver lost control and drifted onto the sidewalk, where he collided with a bus stop and a man standing nearby.
Pedestrian Critically Injuries in Fresno Pedestrian Crash
The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The crash is under investigation.
