Man Killed in Fresno County Truck Accident at Temperance Avenue and North Avenue
Fresno County, California (January 10, 2022) – A driver died after slamming into the back of a semi-truck Monday evening at an intersection in Fresno County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deadly collision occurred at about 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Temperance Avenue and North Avenue.
According to the CHP, a 26-year-old Fresno man was driving a Hyundai northbound on Temperance Avenue when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and entered the westbound lane of North Avenue directly into the path of a big rig that was transporting lemons
The truck ultimately struck the right front passenger door of the Hyundai.
After the collision, the Hyundai veered into a nearby orchard while the truck spilled the lemons onto the roadway.
Deadly Truck Crash in Fresno County
The driver of the Hyundai was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The 58-year-old driver of the truck did not suffer any injuries.
The area of Temperance Avenue and North Avenue was blocked while the investigation and cleanup took place.
