1 Killed in Garden Grove Crash on Highway 22 near Magnolia Street
Garden Grove, California (March 27, 2022) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Sunday morning in Garden Grove, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The pileup occurred at around 5:47 a.m. on westbound Highway 22, just east of Magnolia Street.
As per the report, the collision may have occurred when a motorcycle traveling at high speeds was changing lanes, and another vehicle was also changing lanes at the same time. At least one other vehicle was involved in the accident. A fire department vehicle also collided into the vehicles after the first collision.
First responders found the rider down in the fast lane.
As per the report, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
A SigAlert was issued closing all westbound lanes of the highway following the accident.
CHP is investigating the collision.
