Geraldean Martin Fatally Hurt in Car Accident on Interstate 84 near Milepost 54 in Hood River County

Hood River County, OR. – 55-year-old Geraldean Edna Martin of Portland was killed in a traffic collision on in Hood River County early Thursday morning.

According to the Oregon State Police, the incident happened at around 12:45 a.m. on July 18 on 84 Freeway near milepost 54.

Reportedly, a westbound Ford Econoline AMR Ambulance, operated by Amanda Hancock, 42, of Benton City (WA), left the lane of travel and struck a disabled Chevrolet Camaro the side of the roadway with a flat tire, driven by Martin.

Martin was outside of the vehicle at the time of the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The operator of the Ford Hancock and passengers, Amy Ann Young, 28, of Pasco (WA) and Jonathan David Farmer, 23, of Pendleton, were not injured during the collision. Farmer was a patient in the ambulance at the time of the crash.

More details about the wreck were not provided.

An investigation is underway.
