Gregorio Gomez ID'd as Man Killed in Heber Accident on Highway 111 near Heber Road
Heber, California (May 10, 2022) – The man who was killed in a collision that happened in Heber early Sunday morning has been identified as Gregorio Gomez, 89, according to California Highway Patrol.
The wreck took place on Highway 111 near Heber Road on Sunday, May 8.
According to the authorities, Gomez was driving a red sedan on the highway when he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an oncoming white vehicle driven by Ashley Castillo, 40.
Shortly after, Castillo's car was struck by a vehicle driven by Carlos Jimenez.

Gomez was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
A passenger in the red sedan, identified as Elena Gomez, 84, was flown to Desert Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Castillo was trapped in the wreckage and was extricated by firefighters. She was flown to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
Carlos Jimenez was not injured.
The CHP is investigating the incident.
