Gregory Anderson ID'd as Bicyclist Killed in Simi Valley Crash on Royal Avenue near First Street
Simi Valley, California (December 28, 2021) – The Ventura County Medical Examiner's Bureau has identified the cyclist who died Friday night after being struck by a vehicle in Simi Valley as Gregory J. Anderson, 71.
Simi Valley police said the deadly crash happened at about 7:10 p.m. Friday, December 24, on Royal Avenue, just west of First Street.
According to the police, Anderson was riding his bicycle on Royal Avenue when, for unknown reasons, he was hit by an SUV.
Rider Killed in Simi Valley Bicycle Crash Identified
Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV was not intoxicated at the time of the accident.
Both directions of Royal Avenue were closed between First and Fourth streets as authorities investigated the incident.
