Gretea Ciccarella Among 3 Injured in Highway 139 Crash in Susanville
Susanville, California (November 11, 2021) – Gretea Ciccarella, 62, was among three people who were injured Monday morning in a traffic collision involving a motorhome in Susanville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at around 10:26 a.m. Monday, November 8, on Highway 139.
CHP said a 35-year-old man was driving a 2000 Challenger Class A motor home on Highway 139 when he lost control while descending the grade.
The motorhome reportedly went out of control and clipped the left mirror of a 2014 Buick Encore.
Due to the impact, the motorhome veered off the roadway and hit the embankment. It then partially overturned and disintegrated.

As the motor home disintegrated, the 35-year-old driver and the 15-year-old juvenile passenger were ejected from the vehicle and sustained head trauma. Both were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The motor home driver was airlifted to Renown Hospital in Reno while the juvenile passenger was taken to Renown. Another passenger in the motorhome, Ciccarella, sustained major injuries and was also transported to Renown.
Alcohol or/and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
