1 Severely Hurt in Gridley Crash on Highway 99 near Wright Avenue
Gridley, California (December 13, 2021) – At least one person was sent to the hospital with major injuries after a traffic collision that occurred Sunday evening in Gridley, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident was reported at about 6:25 p.m. on northbound Highway 99 near Wright Avenue.
The wreck involved a red Chevrolet pickup truck and a 2-door silver Toyota sedan.
Authorities said the vehicles collided head-on, causing the pickup truck to roll over and go about 40 feet off the roadway, coming to a stop back on its wheels.
1 Seriously Injured in Highway 99 Crash in Gridley
Gridley police and Butte County firefighters responded to the scene to find one person trapped in one of the vehicles.
At least one person sustained serious injuries in the accident. The patient was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.
Northbound Highway 99 was blocked following the accident, and drivers were being diverted to Wright Avenue.
The pickup truck was towed away with major rollover damage and the Toyota with major front-end damage.
