Man Killed in Heber Crash on Highway 111 near Heber Road
Heber, California (May 9, 2022) – One person was killed in a collision that took place in Heber on Monday, according to a local news source.
The incident took place on Highway 111 near Heber Road.
According to the report, an 89-year-old man drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with a vehicle driven by Ashley Castillo, 40.
The elderly man was pronounced deceased at the site of the accident.
A passenger in his vehicle, Elena Gomez, 84, was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Castillo was extricated from the wreckage and flown to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
A third vehicle collided with Castillo's vehicle after the initial collision.
The driver of that vehicle, Carlos Jimenez, was not injured.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
