Hector Aranda Killed in Acton Crash on 14 Freeway near Red Rover Mine

Acton, CA. – 22-year-old Hector Aranda has been identified as the motorist killed in a hit-and-run collision Friday last week in Acton, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office.

The accident happened a while after 1:20 a.m. on June 14, on south of Red Rover Mine.

Police said a Honda Pilot SUV was disabled on the right shoulder and a tow truck was trying to assist. Both the Honda driver and the tow truck driver were standing outside the Honda when a Nissan Altima crashed into the Honda's rear.

The impact of the collision caused the Honda Pilot to hit the two pedestrians.

The Altima driver fled the scene following the collision. The suspect was later arrested at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.

Police are yet to press charges against the hit-and-run driver.

An investigation is ongoing.
