Driver Suffers Critical Injuries in Hesperia Car Crash on Santa Fe Avenue and Ranchero Road
Hesperia, California (January 6, 2022) – A driver was airlifted to a trauma center with critical injuries after a Wednesday morning head-on crash in Hesperia, as per a local news source.
The wreck was reported at about 9:43 a.m. at Santa Fe Avenue and Ranchero Road.
Firefighters responded to the intersection after the San Bernardino County Fire Department received a report of a car crash with extrication.
The responders found a 2020 Ford Transit Connect and a 2006 Toyota Sienna involved in a head-on collision with no extrication required.
One of the drivers had critical injuries. The patient was taken to a nearby Hesperia Airport helipad by a ground ambulance and then airlifted by Mercy Air 22 to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
The other driver declined medical transportation.
Authorities did not immediately determine the cause of the crash, but an investigation by the Hesperia Sheriff's Station is ongoing.
