Major Injuries Sustained in Apple Valley Crash at Bear Valley Road and Kiowa Road

Apple Valley, California (September 14, 2022) – Major injuries were reported in a multi-vehicle collision at an intersection in Apple Valley on Friday night, according to the Apple Valley Police Department.
The incident took place at Bear Valley Road and Kiowa Road at around 9:50 p.m. on September 9.
According to the report, an Apple Valley Police Department officer spotted a 2016 BMW Motorcyclist traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Bear Valley Road.
The officer activated his sirens and lights and tried to catch up with the rider.
Shortly after, the motorcyclist collided with the passenger side rear of a GMC Sierra traveling east on Bear Valley Road.
The motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries.
The officer in the patrol car arrived at the intersection a short time later and also collided with the passenger side rear of the GMC and the driver's side rear of an eastbound Mitsubishi Montero.
The woman driving the Mitsubishi, a 33-year-old, was hospitalized with minor injuries.
The driver of the GMC, a 55-year-old man, complained of minor pain.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash caused a closure of the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Kiowa Road as authorities examined and cleared the scene.
Police are investigating the incident.
