Irma Medrano Among 2 Injured in Carmel-by-the-Sea Accident on Carmel Valley Road near Shulte Road

Carmel-by-the-Sea, California (October 8, 2021) – Irma Neris Medrano, 44, of Salinas, was among two people who were injured Friday afternoon in a car crash that also claimed the life of another person in Carmel-by-the-Sea, Monterey County.
The deadly crash occurred at around 12:44 p.m. on Carmel Valley Road near Shulte Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to CHP, a Jeep was traveling on Carmel Valley Road when it veered into the opposite lane and clipped a 1973 Ford F250, which then went off an embankment.
A 2021 Toyota Highlander, driven by Medrano, was also involved in the crash.

The driver of the Ford, whose name has not been disclosed pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Medrano suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Tow trucks were dispatched to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles.
The cause of the collision is under investigation by the CHP.
