According to the WSP, Gonzalez Martinez was driving southbound on Interstate 5 when he was struck by an eastbound 46-year-old Elma woman who made an improper lane change

Lakewood, Wash.- Ismael H. Gonzalez Martinez, of Tacoma, was killed in crash near Lakewood on Saturday evening, the Washington State Patrol said.
The collision occurred on Interstate 5 just south of 84th Street at about 4:50 p.m. January 6.
According to the WSP, Gonzalez Martinez was driving southbound on Interstate 5 when he was struck by an eastbound 46-year-old Elma woman who made an improper lane change.
Gonzalez Martinez was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A passenger in his vehicle, a 46-year-old Tacoma woman, was taken to Madigan Army Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
The Elma driver was also hurt and was taken to St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood.
I-5 was temporarily closed as authorities investigated the crash.
The WSP is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
