According to the California Highway Patrol, Christian Terrell Powell, 23, of Victorville, was driving a white Dodge Challenger southbound on 200th Street when he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with an oncoming black Honda Civic
Lancaster, CA.- The boy who was killed in a crash that happened in Lancaster on Wednesday evening has been identified as Israel Mendoza, 9, of Lancaster, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office.
The crash took place on 200th Street East and East Avenue G-8 at around 5:50 p.m. July 30.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Christian Terrell Powell, 23, of Victorville, was driving a white Dodge Challenger southbound on 200th Street when he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with an oncoming black Honda Civic.
Mendoza was a passenger in the Honda and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 14-year-old girl who was also a passenger in the Honda was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.
Powell was arrested on suspicion of DUI following the incident.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
