, California (September 12, 2022) – 60-year-old James Whiten was killed in a Saturday evening in .

The crash happened at around 4 p.m. on Normandy Road, between Berea Road and La Ladera Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, James was riding a motorcycle on the roadway when he collided with an SUV that was making a U-turn.

The motorcyclist suffered major injuries in the crash and was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center where he died while receiving treatment.

The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Officials say drugs and alcohol are not considered a factor in the collision.

Normandy Road remain closed for a short time after the accident.
