Jamie Pierce was driving a Volkswagen that was rear-ended by a white Dodge pickup going at “full speed”.

Indio, CA – The Riverside County Coroner's Office has released the name of the woman who died Friday morning in a crash involving multiple vehicles on I-10 near Chiriaco Summit.
The Coroner's Office identified the woman as 44-year-old Jamie Pierce of Riverside.
Jamie Pierce was driving a Volkswagen that was rear-ended by a white Dodge pickup going at “full speed”.
Authorities said two other vehicles – a Tesla and a big rig – were involved in the crash.

Indio, CA – The Riverside County Sheriff's Office is investigating a multi-vehicle crash that left on female driver dead on Interstate 10 near Chiriaco Summit Friday morning.
The deadly crash happened at about 11:55 a.m. on May 30 on westbound Interstate 5, approximately 2.93 miles west of Cottonwood Springs Road in Indio.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a white Dodge pickup was going at “full speed” when it crashed into the rear of a Volkswagen and initiated a chain-reaction collision that involved a Tesla and a semi-truck.
The woman operating the Volkswagen was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Dodge driver was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center with moderate to major injuries.
No one else was injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
