Janet Coronado and Daniel Aldrete Seriously Hurt in Calexico Crash on Highway 98 near SR-7
Calexico, California (September 15, 2022) – Daniel Emmanuel Aldrete, 36, and Janet Coronado were injured following a semi-truck crash early Wednesday morning in Calexico, according to a local news source.
The crash happened a while before 1:00 a.m. on September 14, on Highway 98, just east of State Route 7.
Per the report, a passenger vehicle was traveling west on Highway 98 while a tractor-trailer was heading north on State Route 7. The two cars drove into the intersection at the same time and ultimately crashed.
Firefighters and medical personnel rushed to the scene. The car driver, Aldrete, and his passenger Janet were trapped inside their car. The two were freed and transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment of severe injuries.
The big rig driver, Joel De Jesus Murrieta Barraza, 36, was not hurt in the accident.
No further details concerning this incident were available.
