Jason Paige ID'd as Man Killed in Cathedral City Accident on Date Palm Drive near Varner Road
Cathedral City, California (September 5, 2022) – Jason Paige, 42, of Dana Point, has been identified as the man who was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Cathedral City on Sunday morning, according to the Cathedral City police.
The incident took place just before 8:30 a.m. on September 4, on Date Palm Drive south of Varner Road.
Paige was reportedly driving northbound on Date Palm Drive when he drifted into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle.
Authorities said the first southbound vehicle was able to move out of the way to avoid a collision with the northbound vehicle but the second was unsuccessful.
According to the report, Paige was killed in the accident.
Two parties in the second vehicle were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
The Cathedral City Police Department is investigating the incident.

Cathedral City, California (September 4, 2022) – One person was killed and several others injured following a deadly head-on collision on Sunday morning in Cathedral City, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash occurred at around 8:30 a.m. on September 4, on Date Palm Drive, south of Varner Road.
Per the source article, a vehicle was heading north when it veered into the southbound lanes for an unknown reason. The vehicle ultimately crashed head-on into another car.
Responding fire officials and medics declared the northbound car driver dead at the accident location.
The people occupying the second vehicle suffered moderate injuries in the accident. They were transported to a medical center for treatment.
The names of the victims were not immediately provided.
Officials closed part of Date Palm Drive briefly following the accident.
