Javier Hernandez, Miguel Tijerina Among 5 People Killed in Fresno County Crash on Millerton Road near Marina Drive
Fresno County, California (February 6, 2022) – Javier Hernandez, 20 of Lemoore, Miguel Tijerina, 43 of Clovis, have been identified as two of the five people who were killed in a Saturday morning traffic accident in Fresno County, according to the CHP.
The deadly head-on collision occurred at about 4:30 a.m. on Millerton Road near Marina Drive, just west of the casino.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Hyundai Accent, driven by Hernandez, was headed southbound on Millerton Road when it crossed a double-yellow line into the opposite lane, crashing head-on into a northbound white Honda Accord.
Sadly, all four men in the Hyundai, including Hernandez and Tijerina, were pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Honda was also pronounced dead at the scene.
First responders arrived at the scene and extricated the driver of the Honda and another passenger. They were taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with major injuries.
Drugs or alcohol were suspected of having played a role in the accident. Indications of drinking were found in the Hyundai.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
