Javier Lopez Killed in Ventura Collision on Highway 101 near Telephone Road

Ventura, California (March 6, 2022) – One of the two people who died in a crash with a wrong-way driver in Ventura on Sunday morning has been identified as Javier Lopez, 23, of Camarillo, according to California Highway Patrol.
The deadly collision happened shortly before 2 a.m. on Highway 101 near Telephone Road.
The collision occurred when Javier drove a Honda Civic north on southbound Highway 101 and collided with a southbound Acura RSX operated by Shae Lopez, 33, of Oxnard.

Javier and Shae were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
One of the passengers, a 33-year-old man from Oxnard, was extricated and rushed to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
