Jeffery Austin Killed in Lancaster Accident on Avenue H and 30th Street West
Lancaster, California (September 16, 2022) – Jeffery Austin, 18, of Lancaster, was killed in a car crash that occurred in Lancaster on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Lancaster Sheriff's Station.
The wreck occurred in the area of Avenue H and 30th Street West at around 2:10 p.m. on September 14.
According to the report, Austin was among two teens riding in a Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on Avenue H when they failed to stop for a red light at the intersection and collided with a southbound Chevrolet Silverado.
Austin was pronounced deceased at the scene while the other occupant of the Camry, Emily Bailey, 16, also of Lancaster, was pronounced deceased at a hospital.
It's unclear whether speed was a factor in the incident.
The driver of the Silverado was not suspected of DUI. It's unclear whether the other driver was under the influence at the time of the accident.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
