Hawthorne, California (January 18, 2022) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died Sunday morning following a traffic collision in Hawthorne, Los Angeles as Jeffery Lanie, 37.
The deadly collision happened on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway near El Segundo Boulevard at about 11 a.m. Sunday, January 16, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Lanie and another person were riding a motorcycle on the I-405 when they rear-ended a car in unclear circumstances.

Lanie died in the crash.
Paramedics transported the other rider to the hospital for treatment.
