Jennifer Garcia Killed in Arcata Pedestrian Crash near St. Louis Road and Janes Creek Drive
Arcata, California (February 4, 2022) – A woman involved in an auto-pedestrian collision in Arcata in January has succumbed to her injuries.
According to the Arcata Police Department, the accident was reported at around 12:46 p.m. January 22, near St. Louis Road and Janes Creek Drive.
Jennifer Garcia, 41, of Arcata was walking in the crosswalk with her 2-year-old child in the stroller when they were hit by a vehicle.

Garcia was airlifted to a Santa Rosa hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries earlier this week.
Her child was treated for minor injuries following the crash.
The driver, a 29-year-old Arcata man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities believe that the driver's inattention played a role in the accident.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the collision.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
