Jeramy Wayne Smith Killed in Car Accident on Road 426 near High School Road in Oakhurst

Oakhurst, California (May 9, 2022) – 18-year-old Jeramy Wayne Smith, of Coarsegold, has been identified as the man who was killed in a Sunday evening car crash in Oakhurst.
The deadly collision happened at around 9:15 p.m., May 8, on Road 426 near High School Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A BMW reportedly collided with a Honda civic on the roadway in unclear circumstances.
Smith and his 18-year-old female passenger were ejected from the BMW.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to the Madera County Sheriff's Office.
The female passenger was hospitalized in critical condition.
Two Oakhurst men, ages 23 and 25, in the Honda were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not provided.
CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
