19-Year-Old Jermari Terrell Victim of Fatal Crash on White Lane in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, California (March 10, 2022) – 19-year-old Jermari Pierre Terrell was the man who died in a Wednesday night Bakersfield crash, as per a local news source.
Terrell, who was an enthusiast of photography and car culture, graduated from Ridgeview Highway School in 2020.
Investigators suspect that drugs or alcohol played a role in the 10:50 p.m. crash that happened on 4400 White Lane, near Dovewood Street.
According to Bakersfield police, the crash happened when 29-year-old Kimberly Phommasouk tried to make a left turn in her SUV and struck Terrell's coupe. The coupe was forced off the roadway into a gas main, causing a brief gas leak.
First responders pronounced Terrell dead at the scene.
Phommasouk was hospitalized with minor injuries and arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was expected to be charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony driving under the influence resulting in death, and DUI. Police said she was to be booked into the Kern County Jail once she was released from the hospital.
