Jerry Murphy Killed in Car Accident on Pontiac Street near Reed Road in Oakdale
Oakdale, California (September 14, 2022) – An 86-year-old Oakdale man died after crashing into a parked car in Oakdale on Sunday morning.
At around 8:30 a.m. on September 11, the California Highway Patrol responded to a collision on Pontiac Street near Reed Road.
Jerry Murphy, 86, was driving a 2017 Lincoln MKZ eastbound on Pontiac Street when he crashed into a parked Dodge Ram pick-up truck.
The Lincoln was found resting against the rear of the parked pick-up truck and partially blocking a sidewalk.
Murphy, a resident of Oakdale, was transported to Oak Valley Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. He was the only person in the Lincoln.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
