Jesus Nava-Sandoval Among 3 Injured Following Ukiah DUI Crash on Talmage Road near Hastings Road; Ezequiel Guzman Arrested

Ukiah, California (December 22, 2021) – Jesus Nava-Sandoval, 32, of Ukiah, was among three people who were injured in an alleged DUI car crash that also left one person dead Tuesday evening near Ukiah, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deadly crash happened at around 6:43 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, on Talmage Road, just east of Hastings Road.
CHP said Ezequiel C. Guzman, 35, of Ukiah, was driving eastbound on Talmage Road when his 2001 Chevy Malibu crossed over the center median into the westbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming 2019 Ford Fusion driven by Phillip Harrison, 38, of Potter Valley.
Both vehicles sustained major damage upon the impact. First responders found unresponsive occupants inside one of the involved vehicles.
Guzman and one of his passengers, Nava-Sandoval, were trapped inside their wrecked vehicle and were extricated by emergency responders. Both patients were then taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital via Adventist Health Ukiah Valley with moderate injuries.
Guzman's right-front passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
Harrison was taken to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley with moderate injuries.
Investigators later determined that Guzman was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident. He was ultimately arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Harrison was wearing his seat belt while Guzman and his passengers were not wearing their seat belts.
