Phoenix, AZ. – 68-year-old Jimmy Contreras was identified as a pedestrian fatally hit on 16th Street in Central Phoenix Tuesday night.
According to the Phoenix Police, the wreck happened at around 9:30 p.m. on May 14 on 16th Street and Thomas Road.
Investigators said Contreras was in the eastbound lanes of Thomas Road when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle just east of 16th Street.
Contreras was seriously injured and was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers. It is unclear whether arrests were made.
