John Carroll Jr. Seriously Injured in Morro Bay Car Crash on Highway 1 and San Luisito Creek Road

Morro Bay, California (February 28, 2022) – 71-year-old John Ruxton Carroll Jr. of Turlock was among people seriously injured in a fatal traffic collision near Morro Bay on Saturday evening.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, Carroll Jr. was driving north on Highway 1 when he stopped to make a left turn at San Luisito Creek Road.
As he was making the turn, Carroll was hit by a southbound vehicle operated by 50-year-old Paul Daniel Gendron, of Visalia.
Shortly after, 66-year-old Vivian Young Gong, of Morro Bay was going south on the highway and collided with Gendron's vehicle.

Carroll and all other parties involved in the accident were transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
A Turlock woman riding in the passenger seat of Carroll's vehicle died following the accident. Her identity is yet to be released.
The CHP is investigating the incident.
