John Matias ID'd as Rider Killed in Rancho Cordova Bicycle Accident on Zinfandel Drive
Rancho Cordova, California (January 3, 2021) – The bicyclist who was hit and killed by a vehicle while crossing a street in Rancho Cordova on Saturday evening has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office as John Anthony Matias, 46, of Mather.
The collision occurred at around 7 p.m. January 1, on Zinfandel Drive just south of International Drive.
Matias was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.

Medics responded to the incident and found Matias down the roadway. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and reportedly cooperated with the authorities.
Police are investigating the incident.
