John Robinson Dies Four Days after San Diego Crash on Nimitz Boulevard at West Point Loma Boulevard
San Diego, California (October 11, 2021) – According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office, John Patrick Robinson, 27, of San Diego, has died from his injuries Saturday, four days after being struck by a vehicle while riding on a skateboard in San Diego.
The collision happened at about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, on Nimitz Boulevard at West Point Loma Boulevard.
Authorities said Robinson was riding his skateboard northbound on Nimitz Boulevard when he entered the intersection, directly into the path of a vehicle driven southbound Nimitz Boulevard by a 63-year-old man.
Robinson was eventually hit by the vehicle.
Deadly Skateboard Crash on Nimitz Boulevard
Robinson sustained life-threatening injuries, including a head injury, and was taken to U.C. San Diego Medical Center. At about 3:29 p.m. on Saturday, his condition deteriorated, and he succumbed to his injuries.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the collision.
More details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation by the San Diego Police.
