San Diego, CA – A man was hit and killed by a vehicle at an intersection in San Diego early Sunday morning, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The deadly collision happened at about 2:58 a.m. on July 27 at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Kendall Street.
Deputies said Jorge Garcia Jr., a 31-year-old resident of Alpine, CA, was crossing the street at the intersection when he was struck by an SUV traveling eastbound on Grand Avenue.
The SUV driver stopped and contacted emergency services.
Deputies and fire personnel responded to the scene and provided live-saving measures to the pedestrian.
Unfortunately, Garcia Jr. succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at about 3:18 a.m. the same day.
No additional information is available at this time.
The crash is under investigation.
