Polk County, AZ – The Oregon State Police as identified Joseph Nicholas Grammer, 50, of Grand Ronde as a motorcyclist killed in a crash on in Polk County Sunday evening.

The incident occurred at around 7:07 p.m. on June 15 on State Route 18 near milepost 27.

Grammer was riding a westbound Kawasaki ZX-18 motorcycle on the highway when for unknown reasons an eastbound Freightliner commercial motor vehicle and trailer made a left hand turn into a gravel lot and entered the path of the motorcycle, causing collision.

Grammer was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the freightliner, Nikita P Sukhodolov, 19, of Salem, was not injured.

An investigation is underway.

Polk County, AZ – A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic collision Sunday evening on Highway 18 in Polk County.

According to the Oregon State Police, the grisly wreck was reported on State Route 18 near milepost 27 at around 7:07 p.m. on June 15.

Reportedly, an eastbound Freightliner commercial motor vehicle and trailer made a left hand turn into a gravel lot and entered the path of a westbound Kawasaki ZX-18 motorcycle.

The Kawasaki slammed into the side of the Freightliner.

The rider was died at the scene while the driver of the car suffered no injuries.

The name of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.

The roadway was impacted for about three hours das officers investigate the scene.

No further information about the incident was provided.
