The California Highway Patrol said a 2008 Honda Accord was traveling north on Interstate 5 when it swerved across the dirt center median and collided head-on with an oncoming 2017 Isuzu box truck

Merced County, CA.- The two drivers who were killed in a crash that happened late last month in Merced County have been identified by the Merced County Sheriff Coroner's Office.
The wreck occurred on Interstate 5 north of Volta Road at around 12:51 a.m. October 30.
The California Highway Patrol said a 2008 Honda Accord was traveling north on Interstate 5 when it swerved across the dirt center median and collided head-on with an oncoming 2017 Isuzu box truck.
Both vehicles reportedly burst into flames after the crash.
The two drivers, identified as Juan Jose Cosio Gomez, 58, of San Jose, and Kristopher Rose, 18, of Pleasant Hill, were both killed in the crash.
Both southbound lanes of I-5 were temporarily shut down following the accident.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
