Julia Aquino Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in South Edison Road Crash near Muller Road in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, California (January 4, 2021) – Julia Aquino, 38, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a collision involving a big rig near Bakersfield on Tuesday afternoon, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred on Edison Road near Muller Road at around 12:58 p.m.
As per the CHP report, a Ford Escape was traveling westbound on Muller Road towards South Edison Road when it stopped for a red light.
The vehicle then entered the intersection directly in front of a heavy-duty tow truck that was traveling southbound at 55 MPH.
The driver of the tow truck, Jamie Gallegos, 26, was unable to stop and slammed into the right passenger side of the Ford.
Woman Killed in Bakersfield Collision on Edison Road Identified
Aquino was riding as a passenger in the rear seat of the Ford was declared dead at the scene.
The Ford driver sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital.
Gallegos did not suffer any injuries.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
