Kenwood, CA: 3-Vehicle Crash at Highway 12 and Adobe Canyon Road

, California (October 28, 2021) – Three drivers were injured Thursday morning in a three-vehicle crash north of Kenwood in County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The major injury collision occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m. in the area of Highway 12 and Adobe Canyon Road,

CHP said a Kia Soul, driven by a woman, was traveling eastbound on Highway 12 when she put her turn signal on and slowed to make a left turn onto Adobe Canyon Road.

For unknown reasons, the Kia was rear-ended by a Saab, driven by a woman. The impact pushed the Kia into oncoming traffic, where it collided head-on with a Chevy Express .

After the collision, the van flipped onto its side and landed into a ditch on the northern edge of the road. The Saap continued east and slammed into a wall at TIPS Roadside Restaurant.

Major Injury Multi-Vehicle Crash in Sonoma County

The driver of the Kia sustained major injuries while the other two drivers had minor injuries. All three patients were transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The restaurant was not open at the time of the crash. The wall and the foundation of the building were damaged in the collision.

Authorities said the three drivers were sole occupants of their respective vehicles. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
